North Bay - On Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th , 2008 (9:00 am - 7:00 pm) at the Canadore Gymnasium (Nipissing/Canadore Campus), local volleyball players will be playing for Voice Near North Chapter.

For over 40 years VOICE’s mission has been clear: “to ensure that all hearing impaired children have the right to develop their ability to listen and speak and have access to services which enable them to be able to listen and to speak.” The majority of children born with hearing loss today are benefiting from early diagnosis and access to auditory-verbal intervention. As well, children are enabled by cochlear implant technology.

This fundraiser is the second to be implemented since a very successful post-Shinerama Volleyball Tournament in September.

"Wendy Jane Karosas and The Elks Lodge have been a crucial link to community involvement among NUSU and CSRC. Voices Near North Chapter allows children to have the same access to resources that anyone else their age would have, allowing them to excel in life. This fundraiser is a very worthy cause and I look forward to building upon this relationship for events to extend throughout the next 12 months," says NUSU VP External Josh Fortier.

Deadline for entries is March 25th.
