North Bay students voice concerns to Wynne in forum

Students took no time in voicing their concerns in regards the increase in energy prices across the north...

In her visit to the Nipissing University and Canadore College campuses, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne took the opportunity to hold a forum with students from both institutions to answer their questions and listen to their concerns and criticisms.

Students took no time in voicing their concerns in regards the increase in energy prices across the north, the difficulty in finding employment in their field of education after graduation, particularly in the field of education and health care, as well as many other topics.

Premiere Wynne toured the campus on Wednesday afternoon, meeting with students and staff of both Canadore and Nipissing. Her visit gave the chance for students to meet with her in a forum to speak directly with her about the most important issues facing them today, including tuition costs and the post-graduation job market.

After the forum, BayToday.ca was able to speak with Wynne one-on-one to discuss northern issues, including health care, rising energy prices, the divisions between Northern and Southern Ontario, and the challenges students face in the future, amongst other topics.

BayToday.ca will update this story shortly.
