North Bay New Year's baby yet to be born

It's 2004, but so far the first baby of the year has yet to be born. "Things are very quiet," joked one delivery room nurse at the North Bay General Hospital. "This is very unusual not to have a baby here on New Year's Day.

"Things are very quiet," joked one delivery room nurse at the North Bay General Hospital.

"This is very unusual not to have a baby here on New Year's Day. We may have to go out on the street and start flagging down pregnant women."

The nurse said that, as of 5:07 p.m., there weren't even any candidates in the hospital or any phone calls from moms or moms-to-be.
