A North Bay man faces multiple charges after being found asleep in a car off Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores.
On December 1, shortly after 9:30 p.m., Temiskaming OPP responded to a call on Highway 11 and while on scene, began an investigation into an unrelated matter.
Two people were asleep in a vehicle and had consumed alcoholic beverages.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Temiskaming Detachment. Further test results revealed the driver had drunk more than the legal limit.
Thomas Villeneuve, 32, of North Bay, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
Villeneuve was released by way of an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on December 14 in Temiskaming Shores.
The passenger, a 26-year-old resident of North Bay is charged with having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place.
Their vehicle was towed and impounded.
