North Bay man facing child luring and child pornography charges

Police have arrested and charged a 26-year old man from North Bay with child luring and child pornography offenses.

They say the accused and the victim met each other on an online dating application in early April and he began sending the victim explicit messages, pictures, and videos via social networking.

The victim reported the incident to the North Bay Police Service on May 18 and the accused was arrested on June 19. 

The man is charged with:

  • Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication
  • Makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication any child pornography
  • Makes sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 years of age

He attended a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse Sunday.

The North Bay Police Service say they will not be releasing the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
