MacLean/s ranking of Canada's Most Dangerous Places is out and it shows North Bay sits at 108 out of 229 cities with its Crime Severity index rising. And we're doing badly when it comes to drugs and sexual assault.

The "All Crime" ranking is worse than Sudbury (115), Barrie (148), but better than Temiskaming Shores (25), Timmins (56), Thunder Bay (58), Sault Ste. Marie (81), and Sturgeon Falls (102).

However, North Bay jumps to 42 out of 229 when it comes to sexual assault.

We also don't fare well in the violent crime category, sitting at 64.

But in the homicide ranking, North Bay improves to 175th.

Here are the other categories with North Bay rankings.

Assault: 86

Firearms offences: 117

The report ranks communities according to the Crime Severity Index (CSI), a Statistics Canada measure of all police-reported crime, which takes into consideration both the volume and seriousness of offences. The 2016 data, the most current available, was released July 24, 2017.
