Update: No live streaming, North Bay Armed Forces Day today a low key affair VIDEO

It's Armed Forces Day in North Bay. Wear red!

Update 1 p.m.

There is no live streaming of any events today says Capt Chris Dubé.

"Unfortunately, there is a spoof Facebook Site purporting to be the North Bay Armed Forces Day site and is promoting a live event today that was cancelled a while ago. This cancellation was communicated through legitimate channels such as the official Facebook site, the webpage, traditional communication with the school boards, and through a media release with the City of North Bay.

"It seems that this spoof site has been picked up by numerous news outlets and promoted to the public, many of which are now currently waiting for an event that will not happen. We have reported the site but it remains active."

You might not notice that Armed Forces Appreciation Day is today. No roar of aircraft, no screams of delight from schoolchildren.

That's because the COVID pandemic has cancelled the usual flyovers and military equipment displays.

You are encouraged to wear red and post your photos to social media using the #NBayAFD21 hashtag.

You will have to create an account, but you can watch the live stream here.

22Wing has also released a video.

BayToday presents it below.
