North Bay ranks 35th in HelloSafe's ranking of the best student cities in Canada.

In total, 15 Ontarian cities rank among the best 47 cities to study in Canada: Ontario is more than ever an attractive province for students. This year, Kingston is in the top spot.after being ranked third two years ago.

"With nearly 17 per cent of students in the city and a diverse cultural and festive offer, Kingston offers a dynamic and varied student life Similarly, with its temperate climate, its preserved environment and easy access to nature, Kingston offers a very healthy living environment for studying," says the report.

North Bay was 40th in the last survey.

This time, despite Laurentian's troubles Sudbury ranks 29th, and the Soo ranks 44th.

Out of 47 cities, North Bay ranks 30th in "Attractiveness" 22nd in "Quality of Life" 38th in "Student Life" and 28th in "Excellence."

To establish the ranking of the best student cities in Canada, HelloSafe applied a set of four categories of criteria, divided into 16 sub-criteria.

"To measure each criterion, we established factors that categorize them, following their relative importance on what defines a good city for students. Each category is rated on 50 points, so the final grade is out of 200. The selection of these criteria and their weighting are largely inspired by the methodological criteria used for similar rankings in European countries."

North Bay's best category was "Quality of Life" where it was 22nd.

Criteria "Quality of life":
