It's called "Wing Dragon" and next week members at 22 Wing North Bay will be training for potential domestic threats.

From April 23 to 27, you can expect to see increased military activity during a training exercise at 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay.

Exercise WING DRAGON will begin at 7:30 a.m. on April 23, ending the afternoon of Friday, April 27.

You can expect vehicle and passenger checkpoints, possibly resulting in travel delays. All visitors to 22 Wing should carry valid photo identification.

"Residents could encounter military members wearing protective gear and carrying weapons on base," says Capt Leah Pierce, Public Affairs Officer. "Expect the use of emergency response vehicles, as well, there may be simulated explosions and gunfire."

The exercise supports 22 Wing safety objectives and is an opportunity for the command to achieve an increased level of preparedness for operations. Exercise Wing Dragon will focus on training for potential domestic threats within 22 Wing’s area of operation.
