Security systems weren't fully operational at Alliance French Immersion Public School yesterday when someone reported a gunman, but steps have been taken to "fully operationalize the existing security systems in place" says Mairghread Knought, Communication Officer.
"The technology is installed but we're having contractors get it up and running. We're working with contractors to get it fully operational. They're not fully operational."
That will be done as soon as possible said Knought.
Meanwhile, North Bay Police have concluded their investigation with respect to the precautionary hold and secure which was implemented yesterday afternoon at the school on Stones St.
Constable John Shultz told BayToday that, "There was a call to Alliance. Our officers were dispatched at 2:25 p.m. and multiple officers responded in a short time frame.
"Following an investigation, it was determined there was a not a concern for the safety of anyone at the school or elsewhere. No one was arrested."
A Near North news release states,"Every concern brought forward by students with respect to health and safety is taken seriously and acted upon in accordance with our Emergency Response Protocol. Communication to parents, students, and community stakeholders is issued in accordance with this protocol.
"The NNDSB continues to work with contractors to fully operationalize the existing security systems in place at Alliance. In the meantime, the administration and staff continue to utilize the existing security protocols and procedures."
