Prospective students and their families are invited to discover everything that Nipissing University has to offer this week as the university rolls out the welcome mat during March Open House, March 13 and 14.
Nipissing will welcome about 300 students plus their families and friends from all across Ontario to the North Bay campus for the annual event, running from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Guests will have the opportunity to discuss academic programs and student services with Nipissing faculty, staff and current students.
Current Nipissing students will be providing tours of their university, showcasing the facilities and sharing their own experiences of life at Nipissing.
Guests will visit Nipissing’s top-rated residences, the award-winning library and the brand new athletics centre.
Students and parents will have their questions answered concerning admissions, academic programs, administration and much more.
Prospective students will also learn directly from current students about why they belong at Nipissing, thanks to a series of large-scale photograph “selfies” featuring a picture with a short paragraph that describes that student’s university experience in their own words.
“Nipissing excels at providing a terrific post-secondary experience and our students are the best ambassadors we could ask for. Our selfie campaign works very well: it’s honest and memorable,” said Nipissing president, Dr. Mike DeGagné.
“We invite anyone interested in pursuing post-secondary education to join us for Open House. We find that people who visit our campus and talk to our students often decide that they want to live and study here. Open House is a great opportunity for prospective students and their families to see what Nipissing has to offer, from small classes and meaningful faculty interaction to fantastic residences and top-notch student services.”
