McIntosh Engineering will be moving its office to downtown North Bay from its current location on McKeown, Mayor Vic Fedeli says.

Fedeli said at tonight's City Council meeting that McIntosh will be relocating 60 employees to a building at 147 McIntyre, which extends to the old Sony store on Main Street.

The move will be done this summer and employees should be in their new office space by the end of June, Fedeli said.

McIntosh Engineering provides designs underground mine systems to the mining industry both locally and internationally.

"I'd like to compliment McIntosh on their wise decision to move downtown and enhance the downtown area," Fedeli said.

Council will vote in two weeks on a "parking solution," for the relocated McIntosh employees, Fedeli added.

McIntosh vice president of finance Bob Hutchison said the city has agreed to make 40 spaces in the McIntyre Street parking garage available "at the going rate" for the company.
