There is a giant void near the beachfront of Olmsted Beach these days.

That's because the City of North Bay has taken down the old playground located near the shores of Trout Lake.

The construction started this week.

"We will be starting construction and landscaping Monday morning at Olmsted Beach in preparation for a new playground in the spring of 2021," a City of North Bay social media post stated.

The City says four trees are being removed to make room for the new playground and correct some drainage issues in the area.

The City will be replacing the trees and adding more in the spring.
