The City of North Bay’s Merrick Landfill site will be initiating the new Mattress Recycling Program on May 1st.
All mattresses and box springs, regardless of size or type (single, twin, double, queen, king, crib, sofa bed, futon) will be subject to a processing fee of $20 per piece in order to cover the cost of the program.
This includes local handling, shipping and processing at the new Ontario Mattress Recycling facility in Barrie.
The Merrick Landfill is located 26km north of the City on Sand Dam Road.
Open from Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays beginning May 28th from noon to 4 p.m.
