It’s literally a dirty job but somebody has got to do it.

In North Bay, that somebody is Erin Plourde.  The entrepreneur has started a new business called Holy Crap Pet Waste Removal Services.

The title says it all.

Monday was the first day on the job for Plourde, as she visited eight North Bay properties where she disposed of doggie unthinkables.

“With all the snow melting some of the back yards are kind of swampy so it smells a bit worse on some properties over others but overall it is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be,” said Plourde, who charges customers per dog.

“It is day one but in eight properties I have seen a nice variety of properties now. It is not terrible.”

Plourde used to work in the landscaping business and while doing that job, she found she was the only one who did not raise a “stink” about picking up doggie business left on the properties.

“I knew there was a need for it and with our aging population and young working professionals there is a demand for it but why not try it and make some money by doing it,” said Plourde, who keeps a face mask nearby in case a job gets too nasty on her nostrils.

Plourde has started a Facebook page where she has been advertising the business.  She hopes to continue to run the pet waste removal business until November.

If this crappy business continues to be successful, Plourde hopes this doggie number two service will help fund a vacation for her family.
