Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen is celebrating North Bay Mining Week by launching a brand new beer in honour of the industry.

John Lechlitner, the owner of Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen, made the announcement at the kickoff media event on Thursday at the main street restaurant/pub.

Cecil’s is launching the new beer in conjunction will all the Mining Week events that will take place next week in the Gateway City.

“We are doing a Gold Rush Blonde, it’s a European style blonde lager, one of the most popular types of beer in the world and it kind of fits really well with the European heritage to the early settlers of mining throughout northern Ontario, it’s popular throughout the world so that is kind of how we married the two together,” explained Lechlitner.

“That’s what we enjoy we get to look around and tailor something to the market, to the long term and that’s one of the advantages of brewing our own beer.”

Lechlitner says it’s not just a short term new beer as he says it will have it’s own permanent tap.
