Near North Board names contractor for new Parry Sound school Updated

The Near North District School Board is pleased to announce that a construction tender has been awarded to W.S. Morgan Construction Ltd. for the construction of the new Parry Sound public elementary school. Site preparation is under way and actual building construction will commence in early spring 2014.

“Teachers, students and parents are pleased with our continued progress making the new school in Parry Sound a reality” said Parry Sound Trustee Jim Beatty.

There is great excitement throughout the Near North DSB with this announcement and the Board is grateful for the support received from the Ministry of Education in making this capital project a reality.

“We believe this re-investment in local education will provide another strong economic development tool for the Town of Parry Sound” said Board Chair David Thompson.
