A driver has been ticketed in North Bay, their driver's licence has been suspended for 30 days and their vehicle has been impounded for 14 days following a traffic stop, Monday afternoon on Lakeshore Drive.
North Bay Police Service stopped the vehicle and ticketed the driver for both speeding and racing a motor vehicle in a community safety zone. Police report the vehicle was travelling 94 kilometres per hour in the 50 km/h community safety zone near Sunset Park school in the 1100-block of Lakeshore Drive.
According to NBPS, the Highway Traffic Act offences do not carry a set penalty. They require the individual to attend a court date. The stunt driving charge, for example, could result in a maximum fine of $10,000 upon conviction.
