Motorists trapped in MVC on 17

Three people were trapped in a two-vehicle head-on collision this morning on Highway 17, approximately five kms west of Rutherglen, in Bonfield Twp.

All three people involved, one male and two females, were sent to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance.

The female passenger of one of the vehicles, driven by the male, is listed in serious condition.

The Bonfield Twp volunteer fire department was on the scene to free all occupants that were trapped in both vehicles.

The highway was closed for approximately two hours. Police are continuing the investigation as to the cause of the collision.
