Motorcycle accident kills rider in Kearney, three seriously injured in separate accident on same road

The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP is investigating a fatal, single-vehicle, motorcycle accident that occurred on Highway 518 in Kearney today (September 19) at approximately 11 a.m., near Forestry Tower Road.  

The motorcycle left the roadway and the lone rider was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The investigation is continuing into the cause of the collision with the assistance of the North East Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.  

Meanwhile, the OPP is investigating another single-vehicle accident that occurred earlier on the same highway at 4 a.m., near Kallio Road.  

Three people were injured. Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and one person was taken from the scene by ORNGE with life-threatening injuries.  

The investigation is continuing into the cause of the accident with the help of the North East Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.  

OPP say more information will be released on both accidents when available.

Highway 518 has since reopened.
