Morning police report: Osama picked up in North Bay

COUNTERFEIT FIFTIES LEAD TO ARRESTS On April 30 shortly after midnight, constables Greg Randall, Sue Solmon and Mark McLeod of the North Bay Police Service received information about counterfeit fifty-dollar bills being passed at a downtown bar.
COUNTERFEIT FIFTIES LEAD TO ARRESTS
On April 30 shortly after midnight, constables Greg Randall, Sue Solmon and Mark McLeod of the North Bay Police Service received information about counterfeit fifty-dollar bills being passed at a downtown bar. Shortly after, the officers located a vehicle with occupants matching the description of
the individuals wanted in relation to this incident.

Two arrests were effected without incident, and two fake fities seized from one of the occupants.

Murtaza PARDHAN, 23, of Knightwood Avenue, in Maple, is charged with possession of counterfeit currency, uttering counterfeit currency and breach of an undertaking.

Osama NOOR, 24, years old of Yorkland Street, in Richmond Hill, is charged with breach of an undertaking.

Both individuals were kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

BUSY WEEKEND
The spring weather proved busy for members of the North Bay Police Service during this past weekend. Officers were kept busy arresting and charging nine intoxicated people.


PHARMACY THEFTS
In August 2004, the North Bay General Hospital reported
thefts of narcotics to Det. Cst. Tina Murphy of the the North Bay Police Service.

She commenced her investigation, which culminated in an arrest on April 29. The thefts consisted of medication such as Percocets, Oxycodone and Oxycontin and Tylenol. It also consisted of a time period from September 2002 to August 2004.

Kelli LAMARCHE, 38, of Prince Edward Drive, is charged with forgery, theft under $5,000 and three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Lamarche was a previous hospital employee working as a pharmacy technician.


THREE SEPARATE BREAK AND ENTER ARRESTS
On April 30 Cst. Richard Hampel of the North Bay Police Service received a call to a break and enter in progress.

The officer attended the residence in question and located a man in a back yard. A foot chase began and the individual was arrested a short time later.

Ross MORROW, 38, of no fixed address, is charged with attempted break and enter and being in possession of break and enter instruments. He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

On May 1 during the afternoon hours Cst. Jeff Warner of the North Bay Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male in relation to a break and enter that had previously occurred in a local residence.

The youth had stolen a substantial amount of cash for a drug binge. He was charged with break and enter and is to appear in court June 8.

On May 2 shortly before 2 AM, constables Mark McLeod, and Joe Whitehead of the North Bay Police Service arrested a male in relation to a previous break and enter that occurred within a North Bay home.

Cash had been stolen. Gary WALKER, 20, of Cassells Street, is charged with break and enter and theft and is to appear in court June 21.


BREAK AND ENTER
Overnight April 29, thieves smashed a window to Sandy Cove North on Highway 11 North, in order to gain entry. Although nothing appears to be missing, the thieves tampered with a vehicle ignition as well as a storage crate for a four-wheeler.
