Morning police report

THEFT OF AUTO: RECOVERED
Between 10 PM to shortly after 1 AM between Jan. 18-19, thieves stole a vehicle that was parked in a lot at Wyld and McIntyre Sts. The owner had been out for the evening and the keys to the vehicle had been taken from her jacket.

This vehicle was a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM, 4 door black with Ont. licence # ADTS 455.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on McPhail Street. It did not incur any damage, however the owner's wallet was stolen from the glove box.

BREAK AND ENTER
On Jan. 18 shortly before 1 PM two males knocked on a side door to a home in the 1400 block of O'Brien Street. When they received no answer, they knocked harder. Still receiving no answer they kicked in the door and entered the residence.

At this point the owner appeared and frightened the
would-be thieves off. It is believed that a vehicle was used for their getaway.
