The Summer in the Park is adding 12 more bands to the weekend festivities, with many of those acts having local or Northern connections.

Wristbands are only $35 dollars each until June 30th and will go up to $50 on July 1st so don’t miss out on supporting your favorite local artists.

“This is going to be an unbelievable Summer in the Park weekend, I can’t wait,” said Strang.

David Dino White kicks off the local talents opening for Ria Mae on Friday July 29th, 2016.  Born and raised in North Bay, Ontario, David’s ability to harness his guitar's full potential as a trans-genre instrument is... what defines his unique and haunting style. Every song begs to be listened to more than once, rich with complexity both lyrically and melodically.

On Saturday night Jaime Gabbani opens for Cory Marquardt.

Jamie is a northern Ontario local talent. Growing up in the quiet, small town of New Liskeard, Ontario, young Canadian artist Jamie Gabbani found herself having roaring, big town dreams, while spending the majority of her time honing her craft as a singer-songwriter.  Jamie is currently working towards the completion of her full length album; “Broken Hearted Blues” (release date to be announced). Jamie Gabbani is without a doubt changing the face of country music and leaving her mark on the North American music scene.

Sunday is jam packed full of local bands.  Numerous local bands take the stage and will lead up to an exciting performance by Michael White & The White – Led Zeppelin Tribute band.

Brian Risk Productions of North Bay hosts the first band of the day which is Heart of Gold - A Tribute to Neil Young.  Neil Young is music’s ultimate survivor through every era.   His dark difficult songs broke every rule of song writing and still climbed the charts. The 30 minute set will feature his biggest hits from his iconic career.

WE-R-3 is an acoustic trio from North Bay that covers a wide range of musical influences and everything from country to rock. We-R-3 puts their own twist on popular classics from Dolly Parton to Guns N Roses.  Ashley Cerisano, Alanna Weder & Kyle Selle will light up the stage.

Greenbank is another Northern Ontario talent that will hit the stage.  At first glance you might think they’d just stepped out of a time machine… Clad in denim and bellowing in three-part harmony, Thunder Bay's Greenbank musters a sound that might have echoed straight from the 1960’s Laurel Canyon scene.

With an innovative and original approach to music, Jean-Paul De Roover is much more than just a solo artist. Live looping with guitars and a voice used as an instrument this multi-instrumentalist constructs his songs piece by piece before your eyes. Beginning in silence his performance could lead anywhere as he builds it live, inviting his audience to become a part of the unique final product.  Jean-Paul De Roover was born in Thunder Bay and has performed many times in North Bay.  His last record was produced by Ben Leggett from Corbeil, Ontario.

Rebekah Stevens is a country/pop singer-songwriter.  Rebekah lived in North Bay for 4 years while attending Nipissing University.  So North Bay is definitely like a second home to her.  Coming from a musical family, music has always been in her blood and a passion she has always pursed.  Rebekah has been making a name for herself performing across Ontario sharing the stage with county heavyweights.

For the Jazz lover Mark Dunn Music will entertain the crowds.  For the last 25 years Mark has been playing and performing.  Dunn has played in North Bay numerous times over the years and has been featured on CBC Radio.

It doesn’t get much more local than The Josh Dimmel Band from North Bay.  Since the ending of 2014, Josh has fronted the band as bassist and lead vocals. On guitar he has Rob O’Gorman and Willie Stevens on drums and backing vocals. They play a mix of 90’s alternative rock and Josh’s originals.

Break the Trend has diverse influences ranging from Rage Against the Machine to Coldplay gives Break The Trend an unmistakable musical edge that keeps you locked from the first note to the last. Harmonizing vocals, catchy guitar riffs and driving drums assures a performance to not be soon forgotten and secures their place on the frontline of the music scene.

Goodnight Sunrise genre has been called “Birthday Party in Band”.  The music seamlessly blends anthemic indie pop with brooding synth rock, while the frenetic energy of the band breaks down the barriers between stage and audience.

North Bay’s very own, Gravitas got washed out last year due to weather but have been invited back this year.  Gravitas entertains and delivers a good time.  The band is made up of three full-time professional musicians who have been performing for more than 15 years and play a little of everything.

The band is made from three full-time, professional musicians. As three solo musicians joined together, the show embraces a unique quality; in fact, the trio’s sounds are enhanced by an instinct to understand what the audience wants and with Gravitas’ versatility, dynamic sounds and love of music, it’s exactly what the audience gets.
