Missing person from family cottage was distraught

It is believed that he was hitch-hiking.

A man that went missing from a family cottage by Monetville, near Sturgeon Falls, is being sought by West Nipissing police.

Prang was originally reported missing from the Waterloo area.

He  39 years old, and is from Kitchener.

He is described as:

  • 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds,
  • balding with an unshaven face.
  • His right thumb is severed.
  • He has medical issues that require him to wear a colostomy bag.
  • He was last seen wearing a black pair of pants, blue and white cotton shirt, and hiking boots with brown and red laces.

He was originally reported missing from the Kitchener area on Sunday.

Prang made his way to a family cottage on Prang’s Lane off Highway 64 in the North Monetville area where he visited family members.

It is believed that he was hitch-hiking and is described as being distraught.

On Monday July 18th at approximately 8:15 a.m., he took his belongings and left the cottage.

The belongings were located later in the day along a roadway by the family.

West Nipissing Police was called at 8:38 p.m. yesterday.

They and Ontario Provincial Police officers and the K-9 unit conducted a search of the area where the belongings were left but to no avail. The search is being resumed this morning however the direction of travel is currently unknown.

West Nipissing Police is asking the public’s assistance in locating this individual. Should anyone see him, they are advised to contact police immediately.
