At approximately 10:15 a.m. today, members of the West Nipissing Police Service and OPP found the body of Jason Prang.
Prang was reported missing initially to Waterloo Regional Police on July 17th 2016.
He had travelled to the North Monetville area where he spent some time at a family cottage before walking away on Monday morning.
West Nipissing Police were contacted on Monday evening and began their investigation. A search involving West Nipissing and Ontario Provincial Police officers was initiated.
On Wednesday, the discovery of personal items at the water’s edge led the searchers to extend their efforts onto Lake Nipissing.
The combined team of OPP and WNPS officers continued on the water Thursday and Friday.
Prang was found in the water on Friday morning several hundred yards from where the property had been located.
The Coroner’s office has been called in and a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on Monday July 25th.
