North Bay’s Kensey Butkevich has placed in the top five in three pageants so far this year. After a runner-up finish in the Miss Teen North Bay pageant, she was offered the opportunity to enter the Miss Teen Ontario pageant in St.
Catharines, where she was second runner-up out of 30 girls, and earned several awards including most photogenic, best smile, and best scholastic results.

After this, Joan Hart, the Ontario president for teen pageants,
entered Kensey in the Miss Teen Northern Ontario event in Cochrane Ontario, where she represented North Bay.

Kensey took home the most anticipated award, Miss Congeniality, which is voted on by a panel of Canadian judges, and the other girls in the pageant.

She has now been offered the opportunity to enter a scholastic pageant in London, where the girls can win scholarships for post-secondary education.

Kensey has opened many eyes in Ontario, and is now in the process of securing a commercial deal, depicting positive images of girl's hockey in Canada.
