Michigan man dies in Hwy 63 collision

Phelps Township – North Bay OPP and members of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 63, in the vicinity of Evergreen Rd. The collision occurred at approximately 7:23 a.m. today (Saturday, August 04th, 2012).

Investigation thus far indicates that the incident appears to be single motor vehicle collision. The vehicle, a 2008 GMC Sierra pick up truck, had been travelling westbound, when it left the highway for unknown reasons. The vehicle then entered the south ditch, and rolled over.

The driver, Robert TREMBLAY (70) of Michigan succumbed from his injuries and was pronounced at the scene.

The passenger was transported to the North Bay Regional Health Centre for non-life threatening injuries. The collision is still under investigation.

Traffic was re-routed via Hwy 533 for approximately an hour. Highway fully opened after TTCI investigation.
