The North Bay Battalion will get more reinforcements this week.

The veteran forward Brett McKenzie was just released by the AHL’s Utica Comets on Tuesday.

The Vancouver Canucks 2016 7th round pick, was sent down to their American League affiliate in Utica back in September.

No official word when he will be back in North Bay, however, the club will have more information about his return at the weekly media conference set for Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Gardens.

The Vars, Ontario product should be a welcome addition to the Battalion lineup where he netted 29 goals and 38 assists for 67 points n 67 regular season games with the Troops last year.

McKenzie, the first ever draft pick by the North Bay Battalion, has accumulated 175 points in his first four seasons with the OHL club.

His addition should be a big boost for the Troops who sport a 3-0-1 record and are still the only team in the Eastern Conference without a regulation loss.

The Battalion is back in action Thursday when they travel to Barrie to face the much improved Colts.
