The event was pulled together over the weekend as a major show of "community-wide" support for McDonald says the release.
McDonald is currently seeking his third term as the mayor.
“It’s a bit overwhelming to have so many good friends and supporters coming together to help my campaign by endorsing me this way,” said McDonald.
“Al is always supporting charities and causes in our community”, said Garth Goodhew. “Everybody knows I’m a Liberal and he’s a Conservative but we have worked together on many, many projects over the years and as a result, Al has earned my respect and my vote.”
Supporter Renzo Silveri added, “We have to grow our city. There’s no choice. Al has consistently supported development and investment in infrastructure. Without these investments, we just won’t be sustainable.”
Gardiner last week rolled out endorsements of his own including former MP Bob Wood, Former Ontario Environmental Commissioner Gord Miller and businessman John Cutsey.
The election is next Monday, the 22nd.
