Tonight’s the night for Mattawa to rock, as two bands are primed to take the stage at the Mike Rodden Arena. Calvin Township’s own Broken Down Lori is warming things up before headliners Roadhouse complete the rock and roll fantasy.

The concert is a fundraiser for Mattawa’s upcoming Voyageur Days. Chelsey Grant, Mattawa’s communications coordinator, explained that all profits will go toward funding day-time activities throughout the weekend.

Those daytime activities will be free for all to enjoy and include many family-friendly events. For instance, there will be a BMX bike stunt show, carnival games, a video game truck, and a car show. Money raised from tonight’s show will help to offset the costs of the attractions.

The event is for those 19 and older, and yes, there will be a bar. The Legion is taking care of the booze, and all funds raised from those sales will go towards supporting the Legion. Food will also be available to purchase on site from Wright’s Bakery.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at the Mattawa Information Centre on 401 Pine Street. Tickets can also be purchased at the door tonight. There are only 400 tickets available, so queue up soon. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the rock shall commence at 8:00.
