Mats, Marty pinched: morning police report

A 10-dollar bill signed by Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco, and a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey signed by Mats Sundin are among the items stolen Wednesday, when thieves forced their way into a residence in the 300 block of Lansdowne Avenue.

Once inside the thieves also stole jewellery and two DVD players.

Neighbours saw a man leaving the general area of the home but thought it was a canvasser.

He is described as male, white, 19 to 20 years old 5'9, 175 lbs., dark brown beard and had dark brown hair to his neck. At the time he was wearing a grey backpack and a blue jacket.

COLLISION WITH HOUSE
On Oct. 28 Cst. Jim Kilroy of the North Bay Police Service attended the scene of a collision with a motor vehicle and a house in the 100 block of Front Street.

This occurred at approximately 5 AM and the lone male driver was brought to the hospital by ambulance for minor injuries and then released.

Minor damage was caused to the house and the vehicle was totalled.

Andre Auclair, 43, of Alberta, is charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
On Oct. 27 at approximately 11:10 PM constables Ken Rice and Gerry Martin of the North Bay Police Service arrested a male in relation to stolen property that had been recovered at a local pawnshop.

This property is alleged to have been stolen from a previous break and enter into a dwelling on O'Brien Street on Oct. 3 of this year.

Harry Edward BUNTING, 32, of no fixed address, is charged with possession of stolen property and fraud under $5000.

He remains in custody for a bail hearing.
