North Bay's Matt Marquardt is expected to hit the ice with his new team this Saturday.
That's after the 33-year-old had to find another ECHL team after the club that signed him back in the summer, the Norfolk Admirals, opted out of playing this season due to COVID-19.
"Excited to be joined the Icemen," Marquardt stated via social media after the late November signing.
"Can't wait to get to Jacksonville and get to work."

The North Bay product and former draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, was recently signed by the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL.
That team is expected to start its season on December 12.
Marquardt makes his return to the United States after spending the last two years with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL.
He made his presence known quickly in Dundee as he registered 46 points in 59 games in 2018-19. Last season, he was named Team Captain and Player-Assistant Coach, netting 44 points in 48 games.
