Man with club arrested for assault

A man began banging on the door making demands of the occupants and raising a club while demanding a male resident come out and fight him.

A North Bay man is in police custody after demanding a fight and damaging vehicles on September 23.

Police say they went last Wednesday afternoon to a Worthington Street West residence for a disturbance call.

They say a man began banging on the door making demands of the occupants and raising a club while demanding a male resident come out and fight him.

While police were on route, the man damaged the door of the house and went to the driveway damaging a vehicle parked there.

Another adult male resident of the home arrived at this point to find the man rummaging through the vehicle. When confronted the man struck this male resident with a duffle bag. The victim was able to hold him until the police arrived.

Police arrest the attacker.

Derek Sevigney, 25, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Two counts of assault with a weapon;
  • Two counts of mischief;
  • Breach of a release order
  • Causing a disturbance.

Sevigney remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
