A North Bay man is in custody after police responded to a fight in progress outside a business on Cassells Street Monday.
Police say shortly before midnight on Monday they responded to a fight in progress on the sidewalk outside a business in the 1000 block of Cassells Street.
They say the attack was unprovoked and that a man confronted the adult male victim, who is known to him. The attacker threw a knife at the victim and then began punching the victim knocking him to the ground.
Police arrived at this point and arrested the man. The victim received a minor injury.
Jason Hookimawillillene, 36, of North Bay is charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Breach of probation
Hookimawillillene remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
