Man charged in traffic death

A man is charged with 'Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Cause Death.'

OPP have charged a McKellar Township man after a Highway 124 crash January 16th killed another man.

On Monday at 7:24 pm, West Parry Sound OPP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 124 in McKellar Township. 

Today, Thomas Hennig, 22, of McKellar Township, was charged with "Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Cause Death." 

Hennig is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit, supported by the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, OPP Northeast Regional Support Team, under the direction of Detective Inspector Rob Matthews of the Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing their investigation.

Police are asking anyone travelling on Highway 124 between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on the evening on January 16 and who may have information regarding this incident to contact the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-746-4225.
