Man chases guy who stole his stuff

A homeowner in Alban, west of North Bay, didn't hesitate when he came home to a thief escaping with his stuff.

OPP said today that on November 12, at approximately 8 p.m. officers from the Noelville Detachment got an unusual call for service on Highway 64 Alban.

The owner, returning to his house, came across a man and a vehicle in his driveway.

Once confronted, the thief jumped in his car and drove towards the owner's vehicle, striking it and then fleeing.

The homeowner followed the guy and called police about their location.

The thief was subsequently stopped on Highway 69, Delamere Township and a man was taken into custody.

It was later determined the house had been broken into.

As a result of the investigation Michel Courchesne, 48, from Alban was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and Enter a Dwelling 
  • Possession of House Break In Instruments 
  • Two counts of Mischief under $ 5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and
  • Fail to stop at the scene of a collision

Courchesne is scheduled to appear in court in Sudbury on December 27  to answer to his charges.
