A North Bay man has been charged with "assault with a weapon" after a bizarre attack at one of the city's popular beach sites Wednesday.
On September 4 at 5 p.m., the North Bay Police Service received multiple complaints of a disturbance in the parking lot at Kinsmen Beach on Henry Street in the city's west end.
Police arrived and found the victims, then shortly thereafter, police located the suspect, who tried to flee but was arrested by police in the 1300 block of Henry Street.
Police say the man had threatened the victims while they were inside a vehicle, and then proceeded to attack the vehicle with a knife while continuing to make threats.
Atticus Dante Priolo, 20, of North Bay is charged with:
- Uttering threats
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Priolo was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
