Man arrested in stabbing attack

Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at a North Bay home Saturday..

Shortly after midnight on September 26 police responded to a McIntyre Street West home. 

Two men who know each other were socializing at the victim’s house with friends. An argument started that turned violent when the victim was attacked with a knife and was stabbed multiple times. The attacker fled the scene and police were called.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Police say the attacker was found later that morning at another North Bay residence where he was arrested.

Police arrested Brett Dupuis, 21, of North Bay who is charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault.

Dupuis remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
