OPP are hoping the public can help in a serious assault in Bonfield.
Back on September 21, at 11:30 p.m., they were called to a house on Church Street, in Bonfield.
When officers arrived they found a person with life-threatening injuries. The victim is now in stable condition.
Today, October 22, Claude Amyotte, 30, of Bonfield was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt murder
- Aggravated sexual assault
Amyotte is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice tomorrow in North Bay.
The North Bay OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Jim Gorry of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone who was in the Bonfield area on the evening of September 21st or early morning of September 22nd and saw anything suspicious, to call the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.
