Canadian Blood Services is asking North Bay and area residents to consider donating blood today to help maintain a strong inventory of blood and blood products for hospital patients. During the summer months, donors change their routine, take vacations and are involved with outdoor activities, so donating blood is not always top of mind. However, the need for blood does not take a summer vacation!

Our next clinic takes place at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park, 201 Pinewood Park Drive, North Bay and there are still over 150 available appointment slots.

Wed., Sept. 19th from 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Thurs., Sept. 20th from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

We need communities to rally together because it takes many donors to help save a hospital patient. Some examples include:

o Up to 8 donors a week to help someone with leukemia

o Up to 50 donors to help someone in a car accident

o Up to 2 donors to help someone who needs brain surgery

o Up to 5 donors to save someone who needs cardiovascular surgery

o Up to 2 to 8 donors to help someone with internal bleeding

o Up to 2 donors a day to help someone undergoing a bone marrow transplant
