LUNCH BREAK: Unboxing a new toy to make new toys

Drew takes us through unboxing of his new 3D printer

The Anycubic Photon is a digital light projector (DLP) 3D printer. It is used to create highly detailed prints of digital sculptures.

Common applications include dentistry, jewellery and miniature figure making to name a few. It works by projecting light, via LCD screen, into a photosensitive polymer causing the polymer to harden in very thin layers (.024mm). The polymer layers adhere to a metal print bed that, as it raises, generates the final product.

Village Media's Drew Armstrong uses it to create his own premium custom figures.

In the coming weeks, Village Media will be running a series of videos meant to enlighten and/or entertain you while we all go through this period of COVID-19 isolation. We hope you enjoy!
