Shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday, West Parry Sound OPP officers responded to multiple complaints of a south-bound vehicle driving erratically at very high speeds on Highway 69 in Mowat Township.
They tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the white SUV failed to stop and fled the area.
Police set up and successfully deployed a spike belt on Highway 400 in Parry Sound and the driver fled on foot.
The K9 unit and Emergency Response Unit responded and the suspect was located in a shed nearby.
Lucky Osuigwe was arrested and charged with:
- Flight while pursed by peace officer
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle
- Breach of Recognizance
- Fail to comply with recognizance
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and
- Fail to stop for police
Osuigwe was held in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.
