Heading south for the March break...and looking for a place for the kids to unwind.

Parents (and grandparents) could consider the OPP Museum, which is located in Orillia.

The Kids Zone at The OPP Museum is open year round, free of charge, to all children accompanied by parents or guardians. The designated Museum Kid Zone includes activities like puzzle solving, creating Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head reconstructions, puppet shows and story reading areas.

Gallery Displays also have numerous pull out drawers for children (and adults) to investigate the contents.

A complementary "Gallery Guide" is available free of charge to all adults who wish to get "all the facts and only the facts" for each of the Museums 40 plus exhibits. In addition, six vintage police vehicles, including Car #1 from 1941, are all on display for viewing by the public.

Also, on Thursday, March 16th from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm Friends of The OPP Museum will set up an additional three "drop in" activities for parents and kids. One table will be set up for colouring of supplied artwork. Another table will let children help make buttons of their choice. Finally, a special "try on a uniform" activity will be set up for all those kids wanting to dress up in a regular OPP police uniform.

All children visiting The OPP Museum on this day will also be eligible for a free draw of an OPP Teddy Bear, compliments of the OPP Off Duty Shopp.

The OPP Museum is open Monday to Friday (excluding Statutory Holidays) from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and admission is free to all the displays, exhibits and activities.

The Off Duty Shopp is also open all week and offers a wide range of products.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and all visitors aged 18 and over, are required to show identification when entering OPP General Headquarters, which is located at 777 Memorial Avenue in Orillia.
