The head of baby Jesus on a statue on the grounds of Ste. Anne des Pins church in downtown Sudbury that became the centre of an international media frenzy last fall has been reattached to the statue.

The statue gained notoriety because of a temporary replacement head attached to the statue that was crafted by a local artist. It made out of red clay and did not match the rest of the piece's look.

The original head had disappeared about a year earlier but was given back to the church after the story received so much media attention.

If you visit the statue right now, you'll notice that it's under repair, although the missing head has been reattached.

A compound has been spread on some parts of the statue to fill cracks. Those parts of the statue still need to be sanded down, then fine-powdered dust more resembling the colour of the statue will be applied.

It's hoped that the work will be completed within two weeks.
