Callander’s Brett Richardson is heading to London in early August to take part in the Ontario Summer Games.

The local baseball player who plays Bantam Rep Baseball with the Sudbury Shamrocks, was named to Team North which is made up of the top 14 and 15-year-old baseball players from Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and North Bay.

Richardson is expected to pitch and play first base.

“It's always an honour to be selected to play for a team of this caliber and to play in the Ontario Summer Games,” said Richardson, who is also a hockey player with the North Bay Major Bantam AAA Trappers.

“I look forward to experiencing this event with new teammates and coaches. It's something I've worked very hard for and I look forward to the opportunity to showcase my abilities and what I can bring to Team North.”

Richardson is in his second season playing bantam baseball with the Shamrocks.

At this time, North Bay does not have a bantam rep Stingers baseball team.

The Ontario Summer Games take place August 2nd to 5th in London, Ontario.
