A pair of local players are on the move today as the OHL trade deadline was complete.

The North Bay Battalion shipped defenceman Payton Vescio to the Hamilton Bulldogs for a 15th round pick in 2020.

The 17-year-old in his first full season with the Troops registered 4 assists in 26 games before the trade today.

Vescio was originally a 2017 4th round pick by the Battalion and played last season with the Powassan Voodoos of the NOJHL where he compiled three goals and 19 assists for 22 points.

Meantime Hamilton Bulldogs 19-year-old forward Ben Garagan has been shipped to the Windsor Spitfires for a 15th round pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

Garagan, who won an OHL title with the Bulldogs last season, had four goals and two assists for six points in 34 games with the Bulldogs this season.

Garagan has played 189 games with the Bulldogs and Sudbury Wolves over parts of four seasons, posting eight goals and 17 assists to go along with 116 penalty minutes.
