Local man arrested after police seize sawed-off shotgun and ammo

North Bay police seized a sawed-off shotgun and ammo after a traffic stop in the early hours of Friday.

Sgt. Jim Kilroy says uniformed patrol officers stopped the vehicle in the north end of the City and discovered the shotgun and ammunition hidden inside.

Three men in the vehicle were arrested and charged with:

  • unsafe storage of a firearm,
  • carry a concealed weapon,
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition. 

All three are being held in custody for a bail hearing.

Charged are:

  • Jean-Yves Koffi, 21, of North Bay
  • Mohamed Ali, 22, of Ottawa
  • Samuel Dore, 22, of Montreal
