North Bay’s Colton Point is home for the first time since the World Juniors.

The former North Bay AAA Trappers goalie is back home after a memorable hockey season and he wants to share some of his success with North Bay this weekend.

Point captured gold with Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo, New York in January.

The Colgate Raiders All-American goaltender will be signing autographs and posing for photos in the main foyer at Chippewa Secondary School at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, with his Team Canada goalie equipment and his World Junior Gold Medal in tow.

There is no charge to attend, but fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the North Bay Food Bank.

“I think that it’s important to reconnect with the North Bay community now that I’m home and having this meet and greet will also help by providing food to the North Bay Food Bank,” said Point, a 2016 fifth round pick of the Dallas Stars.

“I hope I can make a positive impact and give back to North Bay because this city has always been good to me,” added the former North Bay Midget AAA Trappers goalie.
