Local goalie named to OHL All-Rookie team

Hamilton Bulldogs goalie Zachary Roy has been named to the OHL’s Second All-Rookie team.

The native of Callander, ON appeared in 44 games for the Bulldogs during the regular season and posted a record of 20-18-1-2. Roy had one shut-out, a save-percentage of .884 and a goals-against-average of 3.59.

The 18-year old also appeared in all four of Hamilton’s first round playoff games.

Roy was the Bulldogs 4th round pick (71st overall) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.

Last season he played goal for the Rockland Nationals of the CCHL before making the jump to the OHL last fall.
