Local confirmed cases hits six says Health Unit

All six people are in self-isolation

There are now six confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the North Bay area according to the Health Unit.

There have been 261 tests conducted.

The latest case involves a man in his thirties and marks the first case that was acquired by community spread. All of the others are travel-related, including a woman that travelled to Egypt and a man that visited Florida.

On Saturday, another two were reported. a man and woman both in their 70s, who were taken to the Canadian Forces Base in Trenton on March 10 where they were in quarantine for 10 days

All six people are in self-isolation.

Meanwhile, Heath Sciences North in Sudbury says it has no admitted patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

"As a result of the new measures taken, the number of admitted patients at HSN has decreased from 529 on March 5 to 350 today," says a news release.
